Baseball and Softball Open House

Needham Baseball and Softball will be conducting an Open House on Saturday, February 24th from 10 am - 2 pm EST at the Village Club (83 Morton Street) in Needham.

Please join us at this information sharing event where you’ll meet Board Members and League Directors from Needham Baseball and Softball around what we have planned for ALL our programs this upcoming year.  You’ll have an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about youth baseball and softball in Needham.

Information will be available about all our baseball and softball programs, including Williamsport and the Little League World Series eligibility requirements. Parents will be able to ask questions about what is entailed at each age group and the differences between town and travel teams.

At this meet and greet, parents will have the opportunity to discuss the transition from coach pitch to kid pitch and understand when their child will move from small diamond to the big diamond.

We will have representatives from Modell's Sporting Goods who will help answer questions about the new Little League baseball bat rules as well as have samples for each child to try out.

Our partner, Frozen Ropes, will be attending this event to answer questions you may have about the clinics they run for Needham Baseball and Softball and other age specific programs they conduct.

We will have coaches from Needham High School baseball and Rocket Travel as well as Needham Middle School Softball to answer any questions that you may have about these programs.

This event is FREE and light refreshments will be served.

We look forward to seeing you there!  Stop by anytime between 10:00am and 2:00pm.

Spring 2018 Babe Ruth Baseball Registration Now Open

Needham Baseball & Softball announces the opening of registration for in-town baseball players between the ages of 13 and 15 (as of May 1, 2018).  All players are encouraged to register by February 1st.

New to Babe Ruth and beginning next spring, players will be divided into two groups, 13-14 year olds and 14-15 year olds.  All teams will play on the big diamond.  The season will consist of 10-12 games in Needham, with practices and playoffs.  One or two travel games may also be arranged, depending on availability of opponents.  Players will also be eligible for the Babe Ruth National Tournament.  Tournament play begins with the selection of All-Star teams at 13, 14 and 15 years old, playing in a local tournament with winners advancing as far as the national Babe Ruth tournament.

No cuts are made; tryouts will be held in late winter solely to assure balanced teams.

Come enjoy the big diamond, just like MLB teams!  Play with and against your friends, and learn new skills not necessary in younger Little League programs.
