Needham’s 9U teams will compete in the Suburban Youth Baseball League against neighboring towns including Dedham, Milton, Norwood, Medfield and Westwood. Teams typically play a 10-game regular season. Games are mostly played on weekdays. Practices will be scheduled at coaches’ discretion.

Team Selection Process:

All players will attend an evaluation in the spring. The Summer Baseball Director and Summer Baseball Selection Committee will use data from this evaluation, feedback from spring coaches and data from prior evaluations to select the Summer 9A team.

• Summer Director and Committee will select the first nine members of the 9A team.
• The Committee will then select a team manager from among the volunteer coaches who's children were among the first nine players selected.
• The Manager will then select the remaining 3-4 players. These selections must be approved by the Committee

Players not selected for the A team will be placed on a B team.

The 9A team will play in the following weekend tournaments:

• Sandwich Summer Blast June 26-29
• Attleboro Battle in the Boro July 12-13
• Tournament TBD Late July
